Dancing Maidens in a Secret Garden

Mount Sinai Hospital's pavilion overlooks Central Park's Conservatory Garden.

Landscapers change the plantings in spring (tulips) and fall (Korean chrysanthemums).

Those three dancing maidens migrated from the Yonkers estate of Samuel Untermyer not long after World War II ended.

A fountain below the wisteria pergola sprays water 12 feet into the air.

Wisteria grips the wrought iron.

Crab apple trees shelter the lovely allees that border the lawn.

An English garden occupies the south end of the six-acre oasis within an oasis.

The Burnett Fountain honors the author of "The Secret Garden."
