Marlene Dietrich was laid to rest in Berlin's immaculately tended Die Künstlerfriedhof cemetery. As the city's most famous daughter, her gravestone doesn't even include her last name.
Helmut Newton, the kinky photographer, lays right next to her.
The kitschy sentimentality in this nearby grave probably has both of them rolling over in their graves (I couldn't resist).
I spent at least an hour marveling at the contrast between this cemetery and the Jewish one at Weissensee. The images speak for themselves.
