Rear View

You can't beat the simplicity of the concept of the exhibit at the LGDR Gallery.  I went the day it closed.

"Torso" (Male Buttocks) by Andy Warhol (1977)
The white walls of the spacious gallery, in a converted East Side townhouse, really allows the work from the multi-artist show to pop.

"Curly Red Hair" by Domenico Gnoli (1969)
I particularly liked Yoko Ono's execution of a future theme in "Film No 4 Bottoms" from 1966–67.  Always a visionary!

"The Bathroom" by Fernando Botero (1989)
Nothing like adding my own meta twist to the concept:  painting, sculpture, flesh and blood.

"Nude in a Convex Mirror" by John Currin (2015)
Since when is full-frontal a rear view?

"Brown Sugar Vine" by Barkley L. Hendricks (1970)
"Gladiatori" by Giorgio de Chirico (1928)
"Tired Dancer"(NM 206) by Paul Cadmus (1987)
"NUS Exotiques #5" by Mickalene Thomas (2022)
"Sans famille" by René Magritte (1958)
