Carol Rama: Antibodies

The New Museum's Carol Rama retrospective finally gives another 20th century female artist her due.  The Italian rubber heiress, who lived to the age of 97, never had a show in New York.

There's nothing "feminine" about most of her strange and challenging work which the NY Times critic calls "psychosexual."

Rama often used rubber and other non-traditional materials.
