Jardin Majorelle

We hurried to Jardin Majorelle, just across the street from our hotel.  Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berge restored the succulent garden, orchestrated by the French painter for whom it's named, as a gift to Marrakech, the city they loved.

Stephanie and her mother Janis, from Philadelphia, shared a moment in front of the gift shop, surrounded by "Majorelle blue."

I snapped this photo of a YSL mannequin before an employee told me it wasn't allowed. No photography in the gorgeous exhibit of his clothing, either.

YSL designed a "Love" poster every year.

Here's my favorite.

Like anywhere else, a bike will get you around town a lot faster at rush hour, especially when it's about to pour.

We dined at Pepe Nero in the medina.  Superb food and service in a lovely riad.

The lemon tart was as good as it looked.
