Easter

In terms of decoration, Germans take Easter at least as seriously as Christmas.

They even hang eggs from trees, indoors and out.

In Meissen, simple white porcelain accentuated the glorious color of the eggs.

There were chicks, too.

But we rarely passed a window or a store without a bunny, including this gigantic pair in Moabit.

These guys stood guard over the marzipan in Lubeck.

Frankfurt had its share.

Cafe Laumer went a little overboard.

Heidelberg bunnies reminded me of my childhood.

In Dresden, bunnies climbed ladders in a hipster neighborhood.

They table hopped at the Easter market in Leipzig.

Berlin bunnies dressed with greater sophistication, if they bothered to dress at all.

In the Schoenberg neighborhood, one glittery fellow even found his way into a gay fetish store!
