Pretty cocktails and a sense of occasion--our waiter asked if we were celebrating anything--seduced me into overcoming my ban on day drinking.
We got the best of both sides of the Oblix, on the 32nd floor of the Shard.
East London stretched out before us until the maitre 'd escorted us to our table.
We both ordered the two-course prix fixe lunch which, at 38 pounds, wasn't much more than it would have cost to ride the Eye, making it a much better value!
Marinated tuna slices, avocado, garlic & chilli |
Beef carpaccio, mustard dressing, parmesan & herbs |
In between courses, I photographed the view west.
Neither of us ate better while we were in London.
Josper grilled sirloin (200g) fries & truffle mayonnaise |
Spicy seafood spaghetti, lobster, crab, baby squid & lemon |
Another view as we exited.
I loved this illuminated map of London between the elevators. We actually ended up walking most of the Embankment, on one side or the other of the River Thames.
